Alma, MI – Alma College Men's Soccer fell 3-2 to Albion College on Saturday, October 12th, at Scotland Yard. Despite two second half goals from
Ethan Swartzentruber, the Scots were unable to overcome a three-goal first half deficit. This match served as Senior Day, where the Scots honored their seniors:
George Abner,
Tristan Salazar,
Toby Stauffer,
Matthew Przepiora,
Evan King,
Ethan Swartzentruber, and
CJ Fritz.
Albion took control of the match early, scoring three goals within the first 35 minutes of play. Alma fought back in the second half with Swartzentruber scoring his fourth and fifth goals of the season. The first goal in the comeback effort game just two minutes into the half, assisted by
Felipe Soto. Swartzentruber's second goal came with two minutes left in the match, which was unassisted. Despite the second half surge of intensity and goals, Alma's comeback effort ultimately ran out of time on the clock.
The Scots had 14 shots with 7 of them being on target.
Bradshaw Uhlmann made 6 saves during his 76 minutes in net, while
Grant Kaifas made one save during the final 14 minutes of the game.
The Scots look to get back to winnings ways as they host Trine University on October 15th at 3:30 pm at Scotland Yard. The Scots fall to 8-4-1 for the season, and 0-2-0 in MIAA play.
