Alma, MI - #21 Football took on Anderson (IN) on Saturday. The Scots won the evening contest 60-14. Alma jumped out to a massive lead, and kept the clock moving in the second half to secure the win. On a day where the officials' flags likely lost a bit of color, the teams combined for 25 penalties for 257 yards.

The Scots scored quickly, with Zach Poff taking in a 4 yard pass in the back of the endzone. The call flipped several times form touchdown, to incomplete, and then back to touchdown. A 2-point conversion made it 8-0. Alma struck again just 2 minutes later, another big play as
Cole Thomas took a
Carter St. John pass 46 yards into the endzone to move the gap to 15. Anderson took advantage of an Alma penalty to score, on a 4 yard passing play to the back of the endzone. Before the quarter ended, Alma got another pair of touchdowns, separated by 50 seconds.
Jordan Williams punched it in from 4 yards out, and
Joey Kostrubiec plunged in from 2 yards away. Anderson scored their final points on a hook-and-ladder play as the opening quarter expired.

The second quarter opened with a 9 play, 52 yard drive from Alma that culminated with a St. John rushing score from 13 yards away.
Davin Reif scampered in to cap off a 7 play, 35 yard drive just minutes later. Alma got one more shot on offense, and the Scots took it. St. John uncorked the deep shot, which landed in the arms of a streaking
Devon Frenchko. He took it all the way to the house for a 77 yard touchdown. At halftime, the score stood at 50-14.

Things were much more tame in the second half. The Scots tacked on 7 more points on a
Brian Morgan 14 yard rushing touchdown, and a 25 yard field goal from Josh Hernandez.

Carter St. John led the passing attack, with 218 yards on 10-15 passing for 3 touchdowns, also adding a rushing score.
Cameron Kohl was the leading rusher for Alma, with 63 yards on 9 carries.
Devon Frenchko led the receivers with 95 yards on 2 receptions, also snagging a touchdown.
Odin Soffredine led the defensive unit with 5 tackles, also pulling in his second interception of the season.
The Scots are on the road next week for their final non-conference matchup with Wittenberg.
