Alma, MI – Alma College Men's Tennis finished up their Spring MIAA season against Adrian when they hosted the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Scots dropped a close match 5-4.
Doubles
The Bulldogs picked up a point in doubles play at #1, with the team of August Sack and Caleb Schuring falling 6-8 for Alma. The Scots responded with a pair of wins to lead after doubles play. At #2 Doubles, Thomas Manko and Walker Michaels won 8-7 after taking the tiebreaker 7-3. Jake Lasceski and Ashton Trnka also picked up a win at #3 Doubles, winning 8-6.
Singles
Adrian got hot in singles play, with the Scots dropping 4 matches, enough to give the Bulldogs a narrow victory. Adrian picked up a win at #1 when Sack fell by a final of 6-0, 6-1. At #2 Schuring was dropped 6-2, 6-4. #4 saw Manko fall via a 6-2, 6-4 decisio. Finally at #5 Michaels came so close to a decisive win, but was defeated by a slim margin 6-3, 4-6 ,5-7.
The Scots did see a pair of victories in singles play as well. Lasceski scored a win at #3 Singles, winning 6-3, 6-1. Trnka also won at #6 Singles, defeating his opponent by a final of 6-4, 6-4.
Alma's men close out MIAA play, and have at least one more contest on the books against Grace Christian later this week.
