Lexington, OH – Alma College Tennis kicked off their Spring season on the road at Capital on Saturday. The men were defeated by a final of 5-4, while the Scots women fell 6-3.
On the men's side, the Scots picked up a win at #3 doubles, with Jake Lasecski and Ashton Turnka winning 8-1. The Scots trailed by a score of 2-1 after doubles play. Lasecski picked up another win for Alma at #3 Singles, defeating Capital's Brady Wink 6-1, 6-0. Walker Michaels scored a victory at #5 singles, winning over Jackson Havel 6-1, 6-3. Finally, Ashton Turnka picked up one more win, sweeping his 6-4, 6-1 at #6 Singles over Aaron Askew.
On the women's side, the Scots scored their first win at #2 Doubles with Holly Hall and Kayla Weller winning 8-5. Amanda Szymborski picked up a win at #2 Singles, defeated Capital's Nicole Flock 2-6, 6-2, 10-7. Bronwyn McAlindon grabbed the final win of the day at #5 Singles over Kylee Fliter 7-6, 6-2.
The Scots will look to bounce back tomorrow in North Carolina.
