Alma, MI – Alma College Women's Basketball welcomed Adrian College as they continued MIAA conference play on Saturday. The Scots were defeated 65-51 on the night.
Alma nabbed the first run of the game, going up early, but Adrian battled back. The teams battled for the remainder of the quarter, with the play being physical, and defenses prevailing. After one frame, the score was knotted at 13-13.
The teams continued to play hard and scrappy in the second quarter. Both sides posted identical numbers, with the visitors being slightly more efficient from the floor overall. Adrian ended the frame on a 10-5 run to take a lead into the locker room at 29-27 come halftime.
Alma continued to play well defensively out of the halftime break. However, makes were hard to come by. Adrian extended their lead out to 8 to open the half, before a pair of Alma makes brought it back down to 3. However, the Bulldogs drew fouls in a hurry, and pulled the gap out to 9. The visitors survived another furious push by Alma, and a buzzer beater saw the home side trailing 47-41 after three quarters.
Adrian made the first two shots of the fourth, and used that cushion to hold Alma away from the lead, and did well to keep the Scots from hitting tough shots. The final buzzer sounded with the score at 65-51.

Brooke LeRoux (11 Points, 5 Rebounds) and Molly Duerloo (10 Points, 10 Rebounds) were the leaders in the loss.
