Box Score Alma, MI – Alma Volleyball traveled to Albion on Wednesday to take on the Britons in MIAA play. Alma was defeated by a score of 3-0.
The Scots brought out some new looks and got some rather promising results despite the final score. Alma hung tough with the ranked hosting team, leading for much of the first set, before dropping it 25-22. In the second set, the hosts were victorious 25-14 in a gritty set that saw just 15 total kills, where the first set had seen 28. Albion's offense overpowered the Scots in the 3rd and final set, pushing them to a 25-8 win, and the match victory.
Callie Smith continues to impress, and led the Scots with 4 kills, 3 aces, and a block assist for a team high 7.5 points. Ashlyn Michalski tallied a team high 6 kills, and Megan Greenup totaled 12 assists on the night. Kolbey Boyd recorded 7 digs, followed by Lexi Dykstra with 6.
Alma will next be in action at home against Kalamazoo with first serve set for 6:30 PM.
