Greenville, PA – Alma Volleyball traveled to Pennsylvania to take part in the Thiel Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Scots opened on Friday against Grove City College.

Alma fell behind 1-0 before battling back to a tie by taking the second set. Grove City would take the third set, and with their backs against the wall, the Scots won set four to force a fifth set. In the end, Alma didn't have enough in the tank, as they dropped the fifth set and the match.

Offensively, Callie Smith led the Scots with 15 kills, adding 3 aces as well. Smith was joined by Brooke Leroux who had 11 kills to contribute, along with Ashlyn Michalski who put up 10 kills of her own. Ashley Miller and Megan Greenup each put up 22 assists. 

Defensively, Alma was led by Kolbey Boyd, who tallied 27 digs on the day. Miller picked up 21 digs, and Madison Bott dug out 20 attacks as well.

The Scots drop to 2-5 on the season, and will play a pair of matches tomorrow against SUNY Brockport and the hosts Thiel.
