MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The Alma College baseball team headed north after four games in Louisiana to take on two more opponents over their spring break trip in Tennessee. Alma first played Rhodes College on Wednesday, February 23, but lost, 8-1. 

The Lynx struck first in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead over the Scots. In the following inning, Avery Carnicom doubled on a hit to left-centerfield. Carnicom advanced to third on a sacrifice hit and then was brought home on a single by Nolan Chillcut. Alma struggled offensively after the score and would not collect another hit in the five-inning game. Rhodes scored four runs in the third inning and three more through the final two innings.  

Mitch Foley recorded a stolen base for the Scots and Blake Stone pitched five strikeouts through four innings pitched.  

The Scots play next on Friday, February 25, at 2 p.m. Alma will take on Rhodes again before they play University of Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 26.
