Men's tennis falls in season opener

ANDERSON, Ind. — On Saturday, Feb. 19, the Alma College men's tennis team traveled to take on Anderson University in a match that was postponed in fall 2021.

The Scots started the match down 2-1, as that was the way it ended in the fall. Alma ultimately lost the match, 7-2. (High score goes before low score.)

The first match win was back in the fall coming from the two-doubles team of Thomas Manko and Walker Michaels. The second match win came from five singles player Brendan Murdie, with the score of 8-3.

"Murdie just got in the zone quickly and never left it. It was a really great day for him," coach Jared Guy said.

The Scots' next match will take place on Feb. 21 in St. Louis, Missouri, against Prinicipia College.
