ALMA 3, OLIVET 1

Alma's second game of the day was against MIAA opponent Olivet. This game didn't count for conference play, and the Scots were victorious in the opening set. 25-23, also taking the second set 25-15. Olivet fought back to take the third 25-23, and looked in position to send the game to a fifth. Alma trailed 16-5 and it looked certain that Comets would take the set. However, the Scots had other ideas. Alma rattled off 5 straight points to force an Olivet timeout at 16-10. The Scots kept chipping away scoring points in bunches at a time. FInally, Alma tied the game at 21-21, and then took the lead. Olivet fought hard to take a 23-22 lead, but Alma used a Comet attack error to tie the game, and Madison Neu slammed home 2 kills to end an epic 20-7 run, take the set 25-23, and seal the game.

The offense was led by Brooke Leroux who continued an outstanding weekend with a 13 kill effort. Callie Smith added 7 kills to her season total as well. Megan Greenup tossed 16 assists to supplement the 18 that were recorded by Ashley Miller.

Defensively, it was Lexi Dykstra and Kolbey Boyd who each came up with 17 digs. The Scots tallied 11 blocks, with Callie Smith leading the way with a solo block and 5 assisted blocks.
