Volleyball Drops Conference Game to Hope

Holland, MI – Alma Volleyball was in Holland on Tuesday evening to continue conference play against Hope College. Alma was swept by the Flying Dutch.

The Scots played 3 competitive sets with the Flying Dutch but found themselves on the losing end, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.

Callie Smith led Alma offensively, with 10 kills for a team high 11 points to go with 2 assisted blocks. McKenzie Smith and Madison Neu each tallied 4 kills as well. Megan Greenup and Ashley Miller each put up 9 assists apiece.

Defensively, Greenup led Alma with 15 digs, followed by Kolbey Boyd with 12 to add to her team leading total. Alma once again out-blocked an opponent, this time the margin standing at 9-5. Ashlyn Michalski recorded 1 solo block and 2 assisted blocks to lead the Scots efforts at the net.

Alma will be in action at the Mount Mary Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday.
