ADDISON, Ill. — Following the holiday break, the Alma College Women's Bowling team started their season back up at the Kegel ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic on Saturday, Jan. 15, for a two-day tournament. The Scots finished in 31st place on the weekend with a team total of 7,904.
"It was an up and down tournament which was to be expected since we haven't had a tournament in six weeks," explained Head Coach Kyle Woodcock.
Rachel Kuczajda led the team individually with a total score of 1,033 to place 19th overall. Sarah Gadde followed behind with a total score of 864.
"We started out Saturday and missed a lot of spares which put us in a hole to start with, but we bounced back in game two with our tournament high game," said Woodcock.
"We battled hard all day and then in the last game we ran into split trouble. We came out with a strong first Baker set with 805 for the first four games. We kept battling all day and ended up with a 31st place finish."
Next, Alma heads to Toledo, Ohio, for American Heartland IV on Saturday, Jan. 22.
