ALMA, Mich. – On Wednesday, Sept. 29 the Alma College volleyball team fell to Calvin University in a straight match, 25-11, 25-15, and 25-15. 

Opposite hitter Brianna Wallace led the team with five kills and an impressive .571 hitting percentage. Kolbey Boyd controlled the back of the court with 11 digs and Lexi Dykstra had nine assists on the night.

The Knights started their advantage in each set close to the 10-point mark. Alma fought to gain momentum but couldn't respond fast enough. 

"I am extremely proud of the battle our team showed tonight. Calvin is a very talented team, and we knew that going into the match, but we decided to show up and fight. We are starting to put the pieces together when it matters most and that is exciting," said Head Coach Madison Smith. 

Follow the Scots on the road for tournament-play on Friday, Oct 1 to face Elmhurst College. Alma will continue competition on Saturday, Oct. 2 against John Carroll University and Coe College.
