Owensboro, Ky. - The Alma College men's tennis team dropped its match to NAIA Bethel University on Sunday (Feb. 23) 9-0. With the loss, the Scots drop to 0-2 on the spring season and 3-2 overall after winning all three matches last fall.
In doubles action, seniors Brandon Ralston (Cadillac, Mich. / Cadillac) and Brett Reutar (Armada, Mich. / Armada) fell to their Wildcat opponents by a final score of 6-4. Fellow senior Jadon House (Brighton, Mich. / Brighton) and freshman Merrick Bay also dropped their doubles match 6-2. Junior Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) and senior David Suidgeest (St. Johns, Mich. / St. Johns) fell 6-1.
Ralston dropped his singles match in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. House also fell in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. Morrissey dropped the first set of his match 6-1, and then lost a tough second set 6-3.
The Scots will be back in action on Monday (Feb. 24) against Brescia University. The match will begin at 10:00 am at the Centre Courts complex in Owensboro, KY.
