Men's Tennis gets past Olivet

Olivet, Mich. - The Alma College men's tennis team won its second match in a row on Sunday (Sept. 8) 5-4 over the host Olivet Comets. The Scots had three singles winners and two doubles match winners. Junior Brandon Ralston (Cadillac, Mich. Cadillac) earned a singles victory in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. Junior Tait Morrissey (Big Rapids, Mich. / Big Rapids) also earned a victory in straight sets, defeating his Olivet opponent 6-0, 6-2. The third singles winner of the day for the Scots was senior David Suidgeest (St. Johns, Mich. / St. Johns), winning his match in straight sets 7-6, 6-4 to secure the win for Alma.

Earning doubles victories for the Scots were Morrissey and Suidgeest. The duo won their match 8-7. The other doubles victory for the Scots came from Ralston and senior Brett Reuter (Armada, Mich. / Armada); the pair won their match 8-4.

Next up for the Scots is a home match against Concordia University. The match will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday (Sept. 14).
