Jackson, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team began the Irish Hills Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Adrian College on Friday (Sept. 13). The Scots had four men with scores under 90 in the opening round of play.
Leading the way for the Scots was senior Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. Stevenson High School) with a score of 81, one off his career-low. Right behind him was junior Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. Big Rapids) who had a first-round score of 82. Following Morrissey was sophomore Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. Reeths-Puffer) with a score of 84. Freshmen Andrew Curran (Byron Center, Mich. Jenison) finished with a score of 89, while sophomore JP McDonald (Jackson, Mich. / Hillsdale Academy) rounded out the scoring for the Scots with a first-round score of 100.
The Scots will continue play at The Grande Golf Club in Jackson on Saturday (Sept. 14) with the second round of the tournament. Tee off is scheduled for 9:00 am.
