Curran Posts 71 at the Lou Collins Invitational

Battle Creek, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team finished in 12th place at the Lou Collins Invitational on Saturday (Aug. 31), hosted by Olivet College at the Bedford Valley Golf Club.

Freshman Andrew Curran (Byron Center, Mich. / Jenison High School) was one of only two players to shoot under par on Saturday, posting a 71 (-1) and taking five strokes off his first-round score. He finished the tournament ninth overall.

Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) also improved his score, shooting a 78 (+6). Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer) stayed consistent with another 83, while Trent Lashuay (Saint Johns, Mich. / Saint Johns High School) improved by a stroke in the fifth spot, coming in with an 86 (+14)

The men's golf team is back in action on Monday, Sept. 9 for the first of four MIAA Jamborees. The round will be hosted by Hope College and will be played at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive, Michigan.
