Scots in seventh place after Day One of MIAA Fall Final

East Lansing, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team competed in the first day of the MIAA Fall Final on Friday (Oct. 4) from the Forest Akers West golf course on the campus of Michigan State University. After one day after play, the Scots sit in seventh place as a team with a score of 317. Trine University is currently in first with a score of 290, while the Scots trail Adrian College by six strokes.

The Scots were led by freshman Andrew Curran (Byron Center, Mich./Jenison) with an individual score of 76. Curran is currently tied for 9th place in the individual standings. Following him was sophomore Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer). Pinter shot a 79 and finished tied for 27th place. Next for the Scots was senior Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) with a score of 80, and tying for 32nd. Fellow senior Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich.Big Rapids) finished two strokes behind with an 82 and finished tied for 35th. Finishing the day for the Scots was sophomore JP McDonald (Jackson, Mich./Hillsdale Academy) with a score of 88, and finishing tied for 43rd place.

The Scots will compete in Day 2 of the MIAA Fall Final on Saturday (Oct. 5) from Forest Akers West. Tee-off is set for 10:00 am.
