Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team finished sixth at the Alma Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 8) with a score of 350 (+62). The Scots were led by Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) who shot an 83 (+11). Seniors Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort) and Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Central) shot an 86 (+14) and 89 (+17), respectively. Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer) - 92 (+20) - and Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights Stevenson) - 94 (+22) - rounded out the scoring for Alma.

Trine walked away the winner with a 296, beating second-place Aquinas by 28 strokes. Trine's Carlos Coeto and Olivet's Nic Hoffman were co-medalists with a pair of 73's (+1).

Alma is back in action at the first MIAA Jamboree of the season on Wednesday (Sept. 12). Tee time is at 1 p.m. at the Bedford Valley Golf Club in Battle Creek, Mich.
