Men's Golf Places Seventh at MIAA Jamboree 3

Marshall, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team played in the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Thursday (Sept. 27) afternoon. The Scots finished seventh of eight teams with a score of 343. 

Alma currently sits in seventh place on the year in MIAA standings. Hope College, who won today's Jamboree by a 25-stroke margin, is first in the conference. 

Senior Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort) led the Scots in today's contest, shooting an 84 to finish 32nd overall. In a tie for 33rd place, senior Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Central) and sophomore Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) each had a score of 85. Freshman Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer) shot an 89 to land in a tie for 42nd place. Rounding out the day for Alma was sophomore Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights Stevenson), who shot a 99.

The men's golf team will compete in the fourth and final MIAA Jamboree on Monday, October 1st. Tee time is 1 p.m. at the Watermark Country Club in Forest Hills.
