Men's Tennis Sweeps Olivet 9-0

Battle Creek, Mich. - The Alma College men's tennis team swept Olivet nine matches to none on Saturday (Sept. 22). The Scots improve their record to 1-1 with the win. Olivet falls to 0-2.

How It Happened

  • In doubles competition, sophomore Brandon Ralston (Cadillac, Mich. / Cadillac) and junior Brett Reuter (Armada, Mich. / Armada) defeated Donald Doyle and Benjamin Morrow 8-6. Junior Jadon House (Brighton, Mich. / Brighton) and junior Sam Lindeman (Cedar Springs, Mich. / Cedar Springs) also won 8-6 in the #2 doubles match. Freshman Brenden Murdie (Novi, Mich. / Walled Lake Western) and junior David Suidgeest (St. Johns, Mich. / St. Johns) swept Kayleb Bradley and Jacob Kelly in the final doubles match.
  • In singles, only one player dropped more than two games in each of the six two-set matches. David Suidgeest came the closest to taking every game from his opponent, only falling in one game in the second set. Jadon House also took every game from Tyler Nobel in the second set.
    Brandon Ralston beat Benjamin Morrow 6-1, 6-2, as did Brett Reuter over Donald Doyle. Sam Lindeman won 6-1, 6-4 over Austin Briggs in the #4 singles match, and Brenden Murdie beat Jacob Kelly 6-1, 6-1 to complete the day's sweep.
