Angola, Ind. - The Alma College men's golf team finished seventh at the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Saturday (Sept. 22) shooting a 319 (+35). The Scots remain in seventh place in the conference standings after two MIAA Tournaments, though they improved on their first-round score of 324.

The Scots were led by freshman Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer), who tied for ninth place overall and shot a career-best 73. That score is also the best for any men's golfer this season — the previous season-low was a 77 by Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids).

Morrissey landed in a tie for 28th with his score of 79. Seniors Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort) and Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Central) shot an 81 and an 86, respectively. In 47th place, Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights-Stevenson) shot a 90 to wrap up the day for the Scots. 

Hope College won today's Jamboree with a 277 (-7), 19 strokes below second place Trine University and Calvin College. It leads Calvin by 25 strokes for first in the conference.
