Men's Golf Wraps up Play at The Lou Collins Invitational

Battle Creek, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team finished the Lou Collins Invitational in 14th place on Saturday (Sept. 1). Sophomore Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) shot a 79 (+7) to lead the Scots.

Alma shot a combined 673 over four golfers in the two-day tournament. It shot 11 fewer strokes as a team on day two than it did on day one.

Hope College won the tournament with a score of 574 (-2). Daniel Settecerri finished first, shooting a 5 under 139 for the tournament

  • Senior Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Central), senior Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort), freshman JP McDonald (Jackson, Mich. / Hillsdale Academy) and junior Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights Stevenson) each improved their scores from the first round. Bodkins and Schmitt both dropped a stroke, while Lamoreaux shot seven strokes better and McDonald finished in 12 fewer shots.
