Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's tennis team opened the conference portion of its season on Friday (March 30) at the Superior Street Tennis Courts, falling to Calvin College by a 9-0 margin.

The Scots (6-7 overall, 0-1 MIAA) were swept in straight sets in every singles match except No. 1 singles, where senior BJ Schuette (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) was able to take the first set off his opponent before falling in the second and third frames.

At No. 3 singles, senior Noah Ackerman (Munising, Mich./Munising) went to a first-set tiebreaker before dropping the second set, 7-5.

Alma will travel to Adrian College on Wednesday, April 4, for its next match. The opening serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
