Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Alma College men's tennis team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday (April 1) with a 7-2 loss at Calvin College.

The Scots (4-7 overall, 0-1 MIAA) were swept in the doubles matches and won two of the six singles competitions. Freshman Evan Vergith (Holly, Mich./Holly) was victorious at No. 3 singles, winning in third set, while senior Damien Arthur (Allegan, Mich./Allegan) also posted a three-set win at No. 5 singles.

Alma will return to action on Wednesday, April 5, hosting Adrian College at 3:00 p.m.
