Ypsilanti, Mich. - The Alma College men's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory against Concordia University Ann Arbor on Tuesday (March 21) afternoon at the Chippewa Tennis Club. The Scots (4-5 overall) have now won three of their last four matches.
Alma swept the doubles matches and took four of the six singles competitions. Junior Noah Ackerman (Munising, Mich./Munising) picked up two points on the day with a win at No. 5 singles and a No. 3 doubles victory with freshman Brett Reuter (Armada, Mich./Linden).
Junior Tristen Fox (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt) and freshman Evan Vergith (Holly, Mich./Holly) also went undefeated in the match, teaming up to post a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles before Vergith won his contest at No. 3 singles while Fox was victories at No. 6 singles.
The Scots wrap up non-conference competition on Thursday, March 23, traveling to Spring Arbor University for a rematch with the Cougars. Earlier this season, the Scots fell by a 5-4 margin to open the 2017 season. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
