Morrissey and Bodkins Set Season Bests at MIAA Jamboree #4

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team played in the final MIAA Jamboree on Monday (Oct. 2), scoring a 349 (+65) and finishing in eighth place. Two Scots shot their lowest rounds of the season today, with freshman Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich./Big Rapids) tying for 15th place and scoring a 79 (+8), and junior Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central) tying for 20th with a score of 81 (+10). Alma now sits in eighth place within the MIAA headed into the Fall Finale, the team tallying 1029 strokes total over three events.  

What Happened

  • Morrissey and Bodkins took the top two places for the Scots today with their season-best scores. 
  • Junior Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich./Frankfort) posted an 86 (+15), tying for 35th place. 
  • Landing in 46th place, freshman Reese Middleton (Perry, Mich./Perry) shot a 103 (+32). 

What's Next

The Scots will see action one last time this season, at the MIAA Fall Finale starting Friday, Sept. 13. The tournament is set to begin at 1:00 p.m at the Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek.
