Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Alma College men's tennis team won its third straight match, defeating St. Francis (Ind.) on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Wildwood Racquet Club. The Scots are now 3-1 to open the season.
The Scots picked up wins in all three doubles matches as well as four of the six singles events. Sophomore Luke Van Fleet (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) was undefeated for the day, winning by a 7-6(5), 6-1 margin over Alex Stavretis at No. 3 singles before teaming with junior Damien Arthur (Allegan, Mich./Allegan) to win over Stavretis and John Richter at No. 2 doubles, 8-5.
Alma will continue its spring break competition on Sunday, Feb. 28, traveling to Rensselaer, Ind., to face Saint Joseph's College. The match is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
