Alma defeated the Ladies thanks, in part, to the big runs it went on in the first and second sets. The Scots posted a 7-0 in the first set and an 11-1 run in the second to get control and eventually win. In the third, Alma kept its composure though allowing a 7-0 run to Kenyon which tied the game at 24. They took the set and the match after a kill by Pelach and a ball handling error by Annmarie Magnus.
In the second match against DePauw, Alma took the second set 25-14 after dropping set one. The Scots also played a strong fourth set, holding an early lead before DePauw went on a 9-2 run to take an 18-16 lead. Alma was able to tie it up at 18 but could not force a fifth set.
The Scots' next game Tuesday, October 18. They will travel to Trine University to play the Thunder at 6:30 p.m. Alma fell to Trine 3-2 earlier this season.
