Scots Men's Tennis drop 6-3 decision at Hope College on Tuesday

The Alma College Men's Tennis team continued its MIAA tilt on Tuesday, hitting the road to take on Hope College at the Vande Poel-Heeringa Stadium Courts. After starting the season 1-0 in conference play, the Scots would drop their third-straight league match on Tuesday, falling to the Flying Dutchmen 6-3.

With the loss, Alma is now 4-8 overall with a 1-3 mark in the MIAA. Hope improves to 3-10 on the year and 1-1 in conference matches with the victory.

The duo of So. Bryan Schutte (Jenison/Jenison) and Jr. Jared Guy (Portland/Portland) put the Scots on the board first, collecting the 8-6 victory at first doubles.

Alma would drop the next five matches, before So. Grant Hill (Caro/Caro) earned the 3-6,6-4,7-6 win at fourth position singles.

At sixth position, Fr. Noah Ackerman (Munising/Munising) would account for the final Alma point, taking the last match of the evening 6-2,7-5.

The Scots will return to Holland on Friday, April 10, to participate in the NCAC-MIAA Challenge hosted by Hope College.
