The Alma Women's Bowling team hit the road over the weekend, traveling to the Lenawee Recreation Lanes for the Adrian College Open hosted by Adrian College. The Scots found themselves in first place after one game, but a tough oil pattern and some bad breaks would place Alma in fourth place heading into the Baker games.
The Scots maintained their positioning throughout the Baker games to leave Adrian in fourth place out of nine programs.
"It was a tough day for striking," said Alma Head Coach Kyle Woodcock. "It turned into a day where we had to just grind out spares."
Jr. Lillie Miller (Sandusky/Sandusky) led Alma over the weekend, shooting an 813 (203.35 average) to finish second out of 58 bowlers. Miller was named to the all-tournament team at the conclusion of the event.
Jr. Heather Lafnear (Oxford/Oxford) shot a 732 (183 average) to take 10th, while Fr. Brianna Pitre (Saginaw/Carrollton) finished 18th after shooting a 709 (177.25 average).
Alma will be idle for nearly two months before traveling to Addison, IL on Jan. 17, to take part in the ISBPA/Kegel Midwest Classic (Tier 1).
