On Friday evening, the Alma College Men's Tennis team hosted NAIA Huntington College at Stone Recreation Center and dropped the match by a score of 7-2. The loss gave Alma a record of 1-6 in 2013 as the team will host Manchester College on Saturday afternoon at 11:00 a.m. at Stone.
"I know why I schedule all these NAIA & D2 teams, to get us better, but sometimes it sure gets frustrating playing great but losing, but it will help us come conference time though," said Scots Head Coach Chris Sandro. "We had another win by #3 doubles, three in a row for them and they are playing great. Gordy continues to have a great year with another big win at five singles, while Phil played great at six, and had a couple of match points in the third set super-breaker, but just couldn't convert. One last note, Huntington's #1 is ranked in the top 20 in the nation in NAIA so our competition is stiff".
