The Alma College Men's Tennis team participated in the Defiance Spring Tourney on Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets hosted the Scots, Goshen and Bluffton at the invite. Alma finished second out of the four teams, finishing with 27 points.

The tournament set up was not a conventional team-vs.-team match, but instead a flighted tournament. This means that each position played a four-team tournament, with first place earning four points, second place earning three points, etc.

Alma took first place for a maximum of four points in three of the positions - #3 Doubles (Fr. Chad Barnhart and Jr. Joshua Gove), #4 Singles (Fr. Jared Guy) and #5 Singles (Jr. Gordon Rumschlag).

The Scots also finished second in two other positons - #3 singles (So. Trent Pontious) and #6 singles (Rumschlag).

Alma continues their 2013 season next Saturday with a MIAA tilt at Hope College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
