Box Score 2 The Alma College Baseball team hosted MIAA foe Kalamazoo College on a warm, cloudy and breezy Sunday afternoon at Klenk Park and lost two games to the Hornets by scores of 10-3 and 7-6. With the losses, the Scots are now 8-18 overall and 5-11 in the league, while Kzoo improved to 7-9 in the league and 13-13 in the 2012 season.
In game one, the Hornets took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first off of the eventual losing pitcher Sr. Donny Lee (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) and used that advantage to earn the win. Lee pitched 5.1 innings and gave up nine hits and four earned runs.
Jr. SS Ryan Henris (Saginaw, Mich./Nouvel Catholic) was two for three with an RBI and run scored, while So. 3B Alex Kravat (Bay City, Mich./Western) ended the game three for four with an RBI. In addition, Sr. C Matt Stephens (Maple Rapids, Mich./Fulton) had a two for four first game with an RBI.

In the second contest, Kalamazoo scored a run in the first, two in the third and one in the fourth to grab a 4-0 lead. The Scots fought back but could not get enough to overcome the deficit and, despite a late rally, dropped the close 7-6 decision.
Henris had another good game as he was two for four with two RBI's and a run scored, while Fr. RF Blake Leddy (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley) added a two for three effort with a run scored game. So. P Kevin Thompson (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey) gave up four earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched, while Jr. P/IF Matt Cresswell (St. Louis, Mich./St. Louis) took the pitching loss in 1.1 innings thrown.
The Scots next play on Friday, April 20, when they host Calvin College at Klenk Park. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
