The Alma College Baseball team hosted Adrian College on Sunday afternoon at Klenk Park for a MIAA doubleheader. Game one went to Adrian by a score of 4-0 and the nightcap also went to the visitors by a margin of 6-0. With the losses, the Scots are now 2-6 in the MIAA and 4-12 overall, while the Bulldogs improved to 7-1 in the league and 14-4 in 2012.

The first game saw the Bulldogs score two runs in the top of the first inning off of Alma starting Sr. P Donny Lee (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./G.R. C.C.) and those tallies proved to be enough for the win. Lee, now 2-2 on the season, gave up another two (both unearned) in the top of the fifth which gave Adrian the 4-0 final margin of victory.

In the nightcap, Adrian scored single runs in the second and fifth which were sandwiched by two more in each of the third and fourth innings. Alma So. P Kevin Thompson (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey) took the loss as he gave up five of the six runs in 3.2 innings pitched, and his record is now 1-1.

Jr. P Alex Ruhlman (Algonac, Mich./Algonac) pitched two innings for the Scots and gave up a run, while So. P Dan Johnson (Mancelona, Mich./Mancelona) went 1.1 scoreless innings in the loss. Alma's offense, shut out three times in a row in the series, had seven hits by seven different players in game two but could not score.

The Scots will host Rochester College on Tuesday afternoon at Klenk Park, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
