The men's tennis team continued their disappointing Spring Break trip on Wednesday with a loss at the hands of Wartburg College (IA) The Scots dropped the opening doubles matches before claiming two of the singles flights.
The Scots started slow in the doubles action before picking up their game. Unfortunately the holes had already been dug and none of the flights could pull off a come from behind win.
In singles play the Scots were able to pick up two wins over the Knights. The wins occurred at the bottom of the Scots line-up showing their excellent depth. At #5 singles Sr. Ben Schippers (Traverse City, MI/Traverse City St. Francis) battled the elements for nearly two hours en route to a comeback victory, 4-6, 7-5, 10-7. Fr. Justin Meyer (Warren Woods, MI/Warren Woods Tower) continued his successful freshman campaign with a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory at #6 singles.
The Scots will conclude their Spring Break trip tomorrow with a match against Concordia-Moorhead (MN). The match is set to get underway at 12:30pm at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, FL.
