The Alma Volleyball team traveled to Hope College on Tuesday evening for the opening of the MIAA schedule to take on the #12 Flying Dutch. The Scots dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision (25-22, 15-25, 20-25, 25-22, 10-15) to the host team to fall to 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in the MIAA.

In the loss, So. Erika Van Havel (Mason, Mich./Mason) had 41 assists, while Sr. Shelby Gray (Orchard Lake, Mich./W. Bloomfield) had 12 kills. Other players of note include So. Kelly Maise (Northville, Mich./Northville), who had 19 digs and 12 kills, while Jr. Katie Bourbonnais (Miles, Mich./Miles) added 13 digs and 11 kills.

In addition, Sr. Erica Adams (Milford, Mich./Milford) contributed 15 digs for a Scots team that will host Adrian College on Friday evening at the Art Smith Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
