Box Score 2 The Alma Volleyball team concluded the Whitewater Tournament on Saturday by splitting a pair of matches to finish the weekend 3-1. The Scots lost to the host Warhawks in a tightly contested match by a score of 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 25-27), but finished up the competition by defeating Lakeland College (Wisc.) by the same mark of 3-1 (25-15, 25-14, 17-25, 25-20).
"Overall, I think we played pretty well throughout the tournament," said Alma Head Coach Sarah Dehring. "We definitely have things to work on such as our blocking and just being more aggressive. But, we are excited and confident about opening up league play this week."
The Scots travel to Holland on Tuesday to take on the Hope Flying Dutch beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the first MIAA contest of the season. Alma will have their first home match on Friday, September 9, when the host Adrian College at Art Smith Arena.
