The Alma Volleyball team completed a successful weekend on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Albion and defeated the Britons 3-0 (25-14, 29-27, 25-19). The win improved the Scots to 2-1 in the MIAA and 5-2 overall on the season.

After morning travel issues, the Scots settled in to take on a very formidable Briton squad. Alma was able to win the first set by a margin of 25-14, but the second set was a whole different story. The home squad led 19-15 at one point, but the Scots fought back and in a fantastic set, the visitors came away with the 29-27 victory.

The Scots were able to win the third set and now look ahead to playing at Saint Mary's College on Wednesday evening. On Saturday, So. Erika VanHavel (Mason, Mich./Mich) led the team with 34 assists, while another balanced attack resulted in Sr. Shelby Gray (Orchard Lake, Mich./West Bloomfield) and So. Kelly Maise (Northville, Mich./Northville) having 11 and 10 kills respectively.

Defensively, Alma's Jr. Katie Bourbonnais (Niles, Mich./Niles) had 20 digs, and Sr. Erica Adams (Milford, Mich./Milford) and Maise had 17 and 11 each during the match.
