The Alma College Volleyball team continued 2011 action on Friday night when they hosted MIAA opponent Hope College at Art Smith Arena. The Scots lost to a very solid Flying Dutch team by the score of 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 15-25) to fall to 6-4 in the league and 12-6 overall, while Hope is now 8-1 in the MIAA and 14-3 in 2011.

Hope was in control from the outset of the match, and pushed back the Scots every time they made a surge to get back into it. On the evening, So. MH Rebecca Trosper (Sterling Height, Mich./Lutheran North) led the Scots with six kills, while So. OH Kelly Maise (Northville, Mich./Northville) added five.

So. S Erika VanHavel (Mason, Mich./Mason) paced Alma with 17 assists, while Sr. DS Erica Adams (Milford, Mich./Milford) and Jr. S Megan Ballantyne (Allen Park, Mich./Southgate Anderson) each had 13 digs in the contest. 

The Scots are right back in action tomorrow afternoon, when they travel to Adrian to take on the Bulldogs, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
