Alma Volleyball fights back from 0-2 deficit to win against host Kalamazoo on Friday evening

On Friday evening, the Alma College Volleyball team hit the road to take on Kalamazoo College in an MIAA contest. The Scots fell behind 0-2, but won the final three sets for a thrilling 3-2 victory (23-25, 24-26, 25-16, 25-14, 15-13) against the Hornets. Alma is now 10-4 in the league and 17-7 overall, while Kalamazoo fell to 6-6 in the league and 7-17 in 2011.

After two tough, two-point defeats to begin the match tonight, the Scots fought back hard to take the last three sets and walk off the court with the win.

Jr. OH Katie Bourbonnais (Niles, Mich./Niles) led the Scots with 13 kills, while So. MH Rebecca Trosper (Sterling Heights, Mich./Lutheran North) added 10. Jr. S Kelsee Miles (Hanover, Mich./Hanover-Horton) led the squad with 43 assists and Sr. DS Erica Adams (Milford, Mich./Milford) and Jr. S Megan Ballantyne (Allen Park, Mich./Southgate Anderson) had 21 and 16 digs respectively.

The Scots continue action tomorrow afternoon, when they host #1 Calvin College at 1:00 p.m. at the Art Smith Arena. Alma will also play Finlandia University on Saturday, with the start time scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m.
