Alma College's Volleyball's team hit the road on Tuesday and defeated MIAA opponent Trine University, 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-13), to improve to 14-7 overall and 9-2 in the MIAA, while the host Thunder is now 3-9 in the league and 7-17 for the 2010 season.
"When we were down in our second set 9-1, our girls never lost confidence in winning the match and responded for the win," said Alma Head Coach Cheyenne Luzynski. "It was good to have a few days off and I thought our girls played with a lot of energy. We are now looking at four of our last five games on the road and to win tonight was a good sign. We play Hope at home on Friday, and we just need to come out and play a gutsy match, looking for the win."
For the match, Alma was led by Sr. S Hannah Hewitt's (Harbor Springs, MI/Harbor Light Christian) 37 assists and nine digs, while Fr. OH Kelly Maise (Northville, MI/Northville) had a team-high 11 kills on the evening.
The Scots will host Hope College on Friday evening at Art Smith Arena in Alma. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
