Scots Volleyball defeats Adrian 3-0 on Wednesday (25-17, 25-13, 25-18)

Box Score

Alma's Volleyball team continued play on Wednesday evening, when they hosted Adrian College at Art Smith Arena. The Scots improved to 8-2 in the MIAA with a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs (25-17, 25-13, 25-18), while the visitors fell to 3-8 in league competition.

"We had a nice game tonight, especially on offense, as our outside hitters really produced for us, and our defense did a good job of stopping the ball at the net," said Head Coach Cheyenne Luzynski. "We have a bit of time off and we need the rest, so it will be good for us. We will spend every practice trying to get better and shooting for the teams ahead of us. Our next game against Trine will be tough, as they always play us hard and we expect a very competitive match."

In Wednesday's match, three players led the way with nine kills a piece - Jr. MH Shelby Gray (Orchard Lake, MI/West Bloomfield), Fr. OH Kelly Maise (Northville, MI/Northville) and So. Katie Bourbonnais (Niles, MI/Niles).

The Scots also got 33 assists from Sr. S Hannah Hewitt (Harbor Springs, MI/Harbor Light Christian) and 17 digs from Sr. OH Stephanie Bradshaw (Livonia, MI/Churchill). Hewitt also added 10 digs on the night, while Maise contributed eight.

Alma will play at Trine University next Tuesday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and then host their last home game of the regular season on Friday, October 22. That evening, the Scots will welcome Hope College to Art Smith Arena, also beginning at 6:30 p.m.
