Alma Volleyball starts second half of MIAA schedule on a high note

Alma's Volleyball team traveled to Olivet on Wednesday evening in search of their first MIAA road win and came away with a 3-0 victorious decision (25-15, 25-18, 25-21). The win improved Alma's record to 6-3 in MIAA play and 9-8 overall, while Olivet dropped to 1-8 in league action and 3-14 in 2009.

"Our team played awesome for most of tonight," said Alma Head Coach Cheyenne Luzynski. "We took care of business and now we have a big match against Hope tomorrow, that kicks off our Homecoming weekend at Alma. Our girls are excited and we will take our best shot in our gym."

In tonight's win, the Scots jumped on top quickly and let the home team know that it would be a tough night for them. Hannah Hewitt led the Scots with 35 assists on the evening, while the team compiled 43 kills total, led by nine each from Shelby Gray and Kelsey Thompson. Overall for the match, Alma had 50 digs, and were led by Stephanie Bradshaw's 20.
