The Alma Women's Volleyball team lost to Calvin College, the two-time defending conference champions, on Wednesday by a score of 3-1 but made a big statement that they belong at the upper tier of the MIAA in 2008.
The scores were 21-25, 25-16, 14-25 and 23-25 and the games were played at a high tempo that had the very vocal crowd at Cappaert Gymnasium on their feet throughout.
Calvin is a very talented squad that certainly will be a major factor in the conference, but Alma can hold their heads high in that their effort proves they can play with the best.
The Scots next play in a tournament this weekend at Manchester University.
