VOLLEYBALL: Scots Fall to Saint Mary's, 1-3, On Senior Night

Alma, Mi. - As has been the story for most of the season, the Scots looked great at times tonight but couldn't put it together for the entire match and fell to Saint Mary's College in four games.

The Scots jumped out early winning the first game by the score 30-21, and led early on in the second game before conceding it to the Belles along with the third and fourth game.

The match marked the last home game for the Scots in 2007 and thus was Senior Night. Senior Night held special meaning this year for the Alma Volleyball team, because it was truly a night to celebrate their one Senior, Mandy Risch (Cadillac/Cadillac). Mandy has played every single game for the Scots at the libero position this season and leads the team in digs with 428 almost two hundred more than anyone else on the team.

Of her outstanding senior, Coach Luzynski remarked at tonights game, "The impact Mandy has had on this program and everyone involved is infinite and powerful. Mandy is defined by her arduous work ethic, intense passion, and inspirational positive energy. She is someone that exhibits unconditional commitment , kindness, and love for her teammates and school. Mandy has been a part of the Alma College Volleyball prgram for four years, three of which she spent on varsity. She has received the "Ultimate Teammate" award for the past two years and was a 2007 team captain."

"Many will miss Mandy and it will be immensely difficult to replace the energy and intensity she has played with. We will miss her competitive fire, her will to fight, and her love for the challenge and her unmatched leadership. We would all like to congratulate Mandy for overcoming the odds and following her dreams to play college volleyball. We will all miss your tenacity, spontaneity, and passion."
"Mandy, Thank you for being You."
