SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Alma College volleyball team faced No. 3 Wittenberg Friday in the opening match of the first-ever Border Battle between the top volleyball programs from small colleges in Ohio and Michigan.

The Scots were swept in three games (19-30, 21-30, 23-30) and faced Mount St. Joseph and were handed a 3-2 defeat (19-30, 30-28, 30-27, 24-30, 12-15).

They return to action Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against No. 10 Ohio Northern and continue at 1:30 p.m. against Hiram.
