ALMA, Mich. - Alma College volleyball took a break from playing the nation's top 25 to make its MIAA debut tonight (Sept. 13), sweeping Tri-State in three games, 30-21, 30-21, 30-19.
Alma picked up its first win of the season to move to 1-7 on the year and 1-0 in MIAA play while Tri-State moves to 4-1 with a 0-1 record in MIAA action.
Senior Erin Fralick (Petoskey) led the team with 12 kills and 23 total attacks, including one block solo and three block assists. Betsy Bulthuis (Nunica/Spring Lake) added with nine kills and 14 attacks with three block assists. Mary Murdoch (Holland/West Ottawa) and Kelsee Krull (Midland/Midland Dow) led the defense with 12 digs each while Murdoch chipped in with 36 assists.
The Scots return to action tomorrow when they host Kalamazoo College at 7 p.m.
