ALMA, Mich. - The Alma College women's volleyball team lost to Hope College 3-1 tonight at Cappaert Gymnasium. The Scots end the MIAA season with a regular season record of 12-4 with a mark of 12-15 overall. Hope improved to 16-0 in MIAA action and 23-5 for the year.
The Scots got stand out performances from senior Erin Fralick (Petoskey) who hit .615 for the game, including a team-high 18 kills and four block assists. Erica Philp (Ubly) had 14 kills while Mary Murdoch (Holland/West Ottawa) hadded four block assists along with 16 digs and 41 assists.
Hope jumped to an early two-game lead while the Maroon and Cream battled back with a 30-27 victory in the third match before Hope ran away in game four, 30-18.
The Scots head to Wittenberg for a weekend tournament where they face Baldwin-Wallace, Carnegie Mellon, Mount Union and Wooster before returning to MIAA Tournament action Nov. 1.
