Scots Defeat Benedictine, 3-0, To Advance In NCAA Tourney

ADA, Ohio - The Alma College volleyball team advanced in the NCAA Regional Thursday, knocking off Benedictine (Ill.), 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-26), to move to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Senior Lindsey Baker (Chelsea) had a season-high three-game assist total with 51 against the Eagles. Kelly O'Connor (Sutton's Bay) recorded an overall match hitting percentage of .667 (8-for-12). Kelsee Krull (Midland/Dow) led the defense with 23 digs.

As a team, the Scots hit .405 in the first game with 19 kills, posting 21 in the second game.

The Scots are now 34-1 on the season and face No. 1 seed Wittenberg Friday (Nov. 11) at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers are ranked second in the nation in the latest AVCA poll while the Scots carry a No. 18 national ranking into the contest.
